ABOUT US

Our Organisation

Established in 1969, We are a small and personal pre-school which is a member of the Early Years Alliance (EYA). We are an equal opportunity and non-profit making group. We are a registered charity, which consists of a committee of volunteers, run under the EYA Constitution. Qualified and experienced Manager, Deputy Manager and staff provide for the needs of children from 2 to 5 years old. Pre-School staff hold current First Aid Certificates and Food Hygiene Certificates.

Greenways is registered with OFSTED and provides funded places (from 2 years upwards) in accordance with the criteria set by Surrey County Council.

How we support your child

Greenways Pre-School aims to support each child through their own development. Each child is assigned a key person to ensure their progress is tracked and recorded. Your child’s key person will make regular observations in order to assess their development and plan accordingly and will also help your child to become familiar with the setting, support them through learning and comfort them when needed. The keyperson will work with you to support you in guiding your child’s development at home, and will also help you to engage with external agencies such as speech therapy, if necessary.

We use the EYLog system to record a child’s interests and progress, to agree targets and areas for development and to share how you can help your child’s development at home.

Information about EYlog can be downloaded here

Learning and Development

All-round care for your child means to us:

Communication and language development

  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Each area of learning and development is implemented through planned, purposeful play and a mix of child-initiated and adult-led activity.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, of which further information can be found at:
