The average running of our day


Session times:

8:30 - 9:00 - early start session

9:00 - 12:00 - morning session

12:00-3:00 - afternoon session

9:00 - 3:00 - school day session


We do many extracurricular activities each term and we base it on our children’s needs & interests. For example some of these activities are Sports4Kids and Reasons & Relaxed kids sessions with external people who come to Greenways to provide these. 


Timings may vary depending on our daily activities and the weather


8.30am - 9am - Arrival at Greenway

The children arrive with their parent/carer. They find their name leaf on the table and hang them on the self registration tree. The children then hang up their coats and bags on their pegs and place their water bottles at the water station, so they are accessible during the session.


9am - 9.30am - Free Flow/ Free Play

The children choose activities to play inside and outside and may take part in an activity with a small group of children led by an adult.


9.30am - 10.00am - Tidy and morning welcome (split into ages)


10.00am -10.30am - Snack Bar and Free Flow

Our snack bar is open offering a choice of milk or water to drink and we ask that you provide a small healthy snack for your child each session they are at Greenways. This should be a piece or a small handful of fruit or vegetable which the children are able to eat by themselves. Please do not include any nuts in case of allergies.


10.30am -11.00am - Key person activities/Open Garden 


11.00am - 11.30am - Nappy Check/Change


11.30 - 12.00am - Morning children start to get ready to go home, the rest of the children wash their hands and get ready for lunch. End of session songs for morning children if time permits. The doors will be opened for you to drop/collect your child and talk with staff about the session.


12.15pm - 1.00pm - Lunch club (packed lunch)

1.00pm - 1.30pm - Tidy up after lunch and change nappies. Children who need a sleep have a nap.


1.30pm - 2.15pm - Afternoon welcome and Key Group Activities

The children choose activities to play with indoors and may take part in an activity with a small group of children led by an adult. Alongside this we will run extra curricular activities such as yoga, football, rhythm and rhyme etc.


2.15pm - 2.45pm - Tidy up and the children move over to one room and the garden


2.45pm - 3.00 - Goodbye song and Pick up

The doors will be opened for you to collect your child and talk with staff about the session.
